Men’s Lacrosse Hits Road for Saturday Matchup at Hobart

ALBANY, N.Y. – The University at Albany men's lacrosse hits the road once again for a Saturday game against Hobart. The game is set to start at 2:00 p.m. from the Poole Family Sports Dome in Geneva, N.Y., with coverage on HWSAthletics.com.  
 
IMPORTANT UPDATE 
Saturday's game will now be played at the Poole Family Sports Dome on the campus of Hobart and William Smith Colleges. Originally schedule to be played outdoors on Boswell Field, the game was moved inside due to the winter forecast on Saturday which includes snow, 20 mph winds with gusts approaching 40 mph and a RealFeel temperature of just 17 degrees.
 
Due to fire code restrictions, spectators will be limited to only those people listed on the teams' pass lists.

For the second consecutive week, Silas Richmond was named the America East Offensive Player of the Week. Richmond netted a team-high three goals in UAlbany's 10-9 setback against UMass on Saturday. The Preseason All-Conference selection added a ground ball and a turnover in the game. This season, Richmond leads the entire America East in assists (11), assists per game (2.20), points (22), and points per game (4.40). He sits third in the league in goals (11) and seventh in goals per game (2.20). 
 
Last Time Out
The Great Danes used a strong second half to keep up with the #10 Georgetown Hoyas, but ultimately fell, 7-12, in the rain.

History with Hobart
Saturday's game will be just the second all time meeting between Hobart and UAlbany. The Statesmen visited Casey Stadium last season, falling to the Great Danes by a score of 14-10. IN that game, current Great Danes Ryan Doherty, Alex Pfeiffer, and Amos Whitcomb each scored two goals, with Doherty and Whitcomb each adding an assist.  
 
Scouting Hobart
Hobart comes into Saturday's game with an overall record of 2-3, picking up wins against Canisius and Bucknell while falling to #17 Michigan, #3 Cornell, and Robert Morris.
  • Hobart was picked tied for fourth in the Atlantic 10 Preseason Coaches' Poll.
  • Attackman John Jude Considine was named to the Atlantic 10 Conference Preseason All-Conference Team. He has scored four goals and added one assist so far this season.
