The University at Albany men's lacrosse team picked up a huge win over Yale at Casey Stadium on Saturday night under the lights, taking down the Bulldogs in overtime. Koleton Marquis buried the golden goal to cap the back-and-forth battle, lifting UAlbany to a thrilling 15-14 win.

How it Happened:  
  • Yale struck first just under two minutes into the game on a goal from Johnny Keib, who added another just over a minute later to make it 2-0.
  • UAlbany answered quickly, as Silas Richmond went low off a feed from Jacob Smith to get the Danes on the board.
  • Alex Pfeiffer followed just 17 seconds later with an unassisted goal to tie the game at 2-2.
  • Yale regained the lead with 11:31 left in the first on an unassisted finish by Leo Johnson.
  • UAlbany responded again, this time with Jacob Moran finishing on a pass from Richmond to make it 3-3.
  • Yale retook the lead with 9:12 remaining on a goal from Chris Lyons before the Danes pulled even at 4-4 on a goal from Ben Wimmer, assisted by Joey Carino.
  • The Bulldogs closed the first quarter strong, scoring three straight in the final four minutes, including a pair from Johnson and Cole Cashion, to take a 7-4 lead into the break.
  • Pfeiffer opened the second quarter with his second of the day, scoring unassisted to bring UAlbany within two.
  • Koleton Marquis followed with back-to-back goals to tie the game at 7-7—first on a feed from Richmond, then again on a setup from Pfeiffer.
  • Ryan Doherty gave UAlbany its first lead of the game with a solo effort at the 4:58 mark, making it 8-7.

  • Jacob Moran broke the run with an unassisted goal at the 11:17 mark, and Doherty followed with back-to-back goals—first from Daniel Kesselring, then from Richmond—to tie the game at 14-14 with under seven minutes to play.
  • Neither team scored again in regulation, sending the game to overtime.
  • In the extra period, UAlbany struck quickly. Koleton Marquis buried the golden goal off a feed from Doherty with 2:23 on the clock, lifting the Great Danes to a thrilling 15-14 win over the Bulldogs.
