Men’s Lacrosse Welcomes UMass

ALBANY, N.Y. – The University at Albany men's lacrosse team is set to battle the UMass Minutemen this Saturday at Tom & Mary Casey Stadium, the second of UAlbany's three-game homestand. The game is set to start at 12:00 p.m. with coverage on ESPN+.

Leading the Pack

  • In three games, UAlbany has sent four different players to the X to take faceoffs. CJ Schwarz has taken the bulk of them (37 attempts) and holds a .432 FO%. Rocco Mareno holds the best percentage thus far at .643, going 9-14.
 
Player of the Week
Attackman Silas Richmond was named the America East's Offensive Player of the Week after leading the Great Danes in scoring the past week. Richmond netted seven goals, five against Drexel and two at #17 Penn, as well as an assist in each game. He currently leads the conference with three assists per game and 5.33 points per game, while being ranked seventh in goals per game at 2.33.
 
Around the America East
On Friday night, Dartmouth will host Vermont and Towson will travel to UMBC. Three matchups are set for Saturday afternoon, as Ohio State hosts Bryant, Hofstra hosts Binghamton, and the Great Danes host UMass. UMass Lowell has played the most games thus far, going 3-1 in four contests. UMBC sits at a 2-0 record, Bryant and Vermont sit at 2-1, UAlbany is 1-2, and Binghamton and NJIT are 0-2. *** UPDATE RECORDS
 
History with UMass
UAlbany and UMass' matchup history can be traced all the way back to 2001 when the Minutemen first took on the Great Danes. Over 20+ years, UAlbany holds a slight 13-11 edge in the all-time series. The Minutemen bested the Great Danes a season ago in their last matchup, taking a 12-11 victory in Amherst. UMass has won five of the last six against the Great Danes.
