Finish: 8^th Place – FULL RESULTS
 
Location: Blue Hill CC in Canton, Mass.
 
Short Story: The University at Albany women's golf team finished in eighth place out of 15 teams at the 2024 Red Bandanna Invitational, shooting a team score of +91.
 
Head Coach Colleen Cashman: "This was an interesting tournament for sure. Going into the event without a single player having played this course was definitely a challenge, as Blue Hill CC is a challenging golf course. Over the three rounds, I think we had some good moments. Our short game seemed to be pretty strong. Unfortunately, our game struggled in other areas - especially in putting. We made too many mistakes that cost us double bogeys and we didn't make enough birdies to balance out them. This tournament was a learning experience overall. Four of the five players had never played 36 holes competitively in a day, and they found themselves mentally and physically exhausted afterwards. It's the exact reaction I expected after a 13-hour day at the golf course. I told them we had to start somewhere. So today was that day. Moving forward into Princeton we will set some new goals and try to improve on the mistakes - especially minimizing the big numbers and our poor scoring on par 5's. We are a very young team, so this transition will take some time. At this point, it is very important just to be patient and take every tournament one at a time."
 
Day One – Round One:

• Callie Taylor – 78 (+6)
• Mia Cepeda – 78 (+6)
• Madison Kuratani – 80 (+8)
• Jessica Brown – 82 (+10)
• Nicole Criscone – 83 (+11)
• Taylor and Cepeda once again paced the Great Danes to start the tournament. Taylor finished round one with a birdie, five bogeys, and one double. Cepeda finished with two birdie, four bogeys, and two doubles.

 
Day One – Round Two:

• Callie Taylor – 77 (+5), 155 (+11) overall
• Mia Cepeda – 80 (+8), 158 (+14) overall
• Jessica Brown – 78 (+6), 160 (+16) overall
• Nicole Criscone – 82 (+10), 165 (+21) overall
• Madison Kuratani – 88 (+16), 170 (+24) overall
• Taylor shot one stroke better than her first round to lead the Great Danes at +11 overall. Jessica Brown had a solid second round, shooting in the 70's to finish +16 overall through two.

 
Day Two – Round Three:

• Mia Cepeda – 78 (+6), 236 (+20) overall
• Callie Taylor – 84 (+12), 239 (+23) overall
• Jessica Brown – 81 (+9), 241, (+25) overall
• Nicole Criscone – 80 (+8), 245 (+29) overall
• Madison Kuratani – 81 (+9), 249 (+33) overall
• Cepeda matched her best score of the weekend to lead the team once again.
