Finish: 2
nd Place –
FULL RESULTS
Location: Saucon Valley CC in Bethlehem, Pa.
Short Story: The University at Albany women's golf team used a strong second round to rally for a second place finish at the Lehigh Invitational to close out the 2024 fall season.
Head Coach Colleen Cashman: "Well, that's a wrap. Nice to be finishing off the fall season finishing 2
nd with some hardware to put on the shelves. Just as we knew, it was going to be a putting contest, and it definitely was. Thankfully, the weather was absolutely gorgeous. Yesterday we faltered a bit as we struggled with positioning on greens and we were only able to make three birdies. Today, we got off to a solid start but gave away a lot of shots at the end of the round. Overall though, we hung in there tough enough to get the job done, improving with 10 birdies. Back-to-back years of 2
nd place team finishes is certainly something to be proud of. Saucon Valley CC is a special golf course, and it was an honor to play this course for our last event of the season. I'm confident this team and these players will work hard in the winter months to be prepared for our spring season and come out firing. Definitely something to look forward to for sure!"
