SHORT STORY: The women's strong finish was followed by an even stronger showing from the Great Dane men at Vermont's Fall Foliage Invitational, Sunday.
KEY NOTES
- Three men finished in the top-10 to lead their team to a second palace finish.
- Junior Jed Elmbarki, graduate student Tom Ragone, and graduate student Jared Rogalski each earned a top-10 finish.
- Two women finished in the top-10 - graduate student Tess Fitzmaurice and junior Skyler Smith.
- Both the men and the women added a runner to the top-15.
- The women's scoring gap was 1:03.0.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Tess Fitzmaurice led UAlbany's women for the fourth consecutive race.
- Finishing 10th in 8:26.2, Skyler Smith followed Fitzmaurice's fourth-place 18:09.2 finish.
- Alondra Cruz-Delgado made it three women in the top-15 with 14th-place (18:33.3).
- Graduate student Katie Iocca (18:47.1, 21st) and junior Scarlett Rose (19:12.2, 37th) rounded out the Great Danes' scorers with their respective finishes.
- The men improved upon the women's strong performance with a second-place finish as a team.
- For the third consecutive race, Jed Elmbarki led UAlbany (25:35.1, fourth) with Tom Ragone close behind (25:51.9, seventh).
- In his fifth year as a Great Dane, Jared Rogalski tallied third on the team with a 10-place finish in 26:01.6.
- Senior Chris Bertola and freshman Chris Jernigan rounded out the men's scorers. They finished 15th (26:16.7) and 30th (26:57.5), respectively.
