SEASON STATS

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. – The University at Albany field hockey team (13-3, 2-1 AE) registered a 4-1 nonconference win against Hofstra on Sunday afternoon.

"I was very pleased with our rebounding from the game on Friday against New Hampshire," said head coach Phil Sykes. It was a very good team effort, offensively and defensively, everyone contributed which was great for us going into the end of the regular season."

The Great Danes jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first half. Corrine McConville scored the first UAlbany goal on a penalty corner pass from Daphne Voormolen. Voormolen made the score 2-0 less than five minutes later off a rebound. With her 14th goal of the season, Voormolen has tied her goal total from last season, and ranks tied for third all-time in single-season points with 35.

Amy Nicklin scored her first goal of the season to close the first half. The junior knocked in a rebounded shot by Celia D'Agostino for her fourth career goal.

Hofstra's leading scorer Jonel Boileau found the back of the cage unassisted mid-way through the second half, but UAlbany's Kelly Bonner put the game out of reach in the 63rd minute with her sixth goal of the season. The junior scored on a pass through the Pride defense from Paula Heuser.

Maxi Primus notched her 12th win of the season in the cage. The freshman ranks tied for second all-time among goalkeepers in single season wins at UAlbany. She needs two more wins to become the all-time single season leader, and is already the single-season shutouts leader with seven.

The Great Danes out-shot the Pride 23-4, and held an 8-1 advantage on penalty corners.

UAlbany returns home to Alumni field on Saturday, Oct. 26 to face America East opponent Fairfield at 2 p.m. The Great Danes will celebrate their seniors on Sunday, Oct. 27 against defending national champion Princeton at 2 p.m.
