Women’s Rowing Announces Spring Schedule, First Official Roster

ALBANY, N.Y. – The newly established University at Albany women's rowing team is set to enter its first ever season of competition. Head Coach Kim Chavers has announced the team's schedule for the spring of 2025 as well as the program's first official roster.

"We are thrilled to announce the schedule for our inaugural spring season," said Chavers. "This marks an exciting milestone for UAlbany women's rowing as we take to the water and compete for the first time. Our team has been training hard this winter, and this schedule gives us the opportunity to build the foundation for the future of UAlbany Rowing."

The Great Danes are set to compete in six regattas this spring, starting on Saturday, March 22, with the John Ferriss Lanier Sprints Regatta in Gainesville, Ga. The team comes back to the Northeast the next week for the Assumption Duel in Massachusetts before going to New Jersey for the Knecht Cup Regatta in mid-April.

The New York State Collegiate Championships are set for April 19 in Saratoga, N.Y., just a short drive north for the Great Danes. The team stays in New York for the Novak Memorial Metropolitan Championship in New Rochelle before the season wraps up at the Jefferson Dad Vail Regatta in Pennsauken, N.J., from May 9-10.
