GREAT DANE REWIND
- UAlbany is 18-10 with a 7-4 America East record.
- The Great Danes began the season at NC State's Wolfpack Classic (Feb. 16-17). Accumulating one win in two games over Iona, UAlbany fell in both games against the ACC host.
- At the annual Spring Games competition (Mar. 1-3), the Great Danes added a 4-1 record.
- In their first doubleheader of the season, UAlbany split the results against FDU (Mar. 9).
- Moving on with the UMBC Spring Invite (March. 15-16), the Great Danes notched a 3-1 record with games against Niagara and Wisconsin. After a shutout against each team on Saturday, UAlbany added two one-run games on Sunday, including a no-hitter against Wisconsin.
- During the doubleheader at UMass, the Great Danes earned two victories (Mar. 27).
- In their first conference series, UAlbany swept Maine with three victories, including one shutout (Mar. 30-31).
- The Great Danes went 2-1 against UMBC to win the series (Apr. 6-7). After the single-game win on Saturday, the two teams split the doubleheader on Sunday.
- During a midweek doubleheader, UAlbany won both games at UMass Lowell (Apr. 9) before falling in a three-game series at Bryant (Apr. 13-14).

AT THE PLATE
- Three Great Danes have worked for a batting average over .350 - graduate student Maddi Petrella (.369), graduate student Caitlyn Mitros (.360), and redshirt-junior Victoria Vilarchao (.358).
- Freshman Mary Kate Murray (.342) and senior Jordan Nastos (.322) follow with batting averages over .300.
- Graduate student Morgan Petty owns a team-high 25 RBI and eight home runs. Petrella follows closely with 24 RBI and six home runs.
- Four Great Danes have scored over 20 times - Petty (24), Nastos (21), Mitros (20), and Petrella (20).
- Petrella leads with 15 multi-base hits (nine doubles, six homers) and Petty follows closely with 13 (five doubles, eight homers).
- Sophomore Deanna Grahek and Nastos have hit the Great Dane's two triples.
IN THE CIRCLE
- Graduate student Wendi Hammond continues to serve as the Great Danes' starting pitcher.
- Hammonds leads with 110.0 innings pitched, 13 complete games, 13 wins, and 70 strikeouts.
- Redshirt-junior Kate Powers maintains a team-low ERA of 1.92 and has gone 5-2 with 29 strikeouts this season.
- Junior Dominique Prevette has pitched for seven strikeouts in 18.1 innings pitched.
- At the UMBC Spring Invite, Powers and Hammond combined for four complete games, including two shutouts and a no-hitter. Allowing just one earned run throughout the competition, Hammond ended the weekend with a 0.00 ERA while Powers tallied a 0.64 ERA.
- In their AE-opening series, Powers pitched a complete game shutout for just the second time this season. She allowed only one hit and one walk on her way to a 0.00 ERA in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader.
ABOUT PROVIDENCE
- The Friars are 18-18 on the season with an 8-10 conference record.
- Providence began its season with three tournaments - Marti Gras Mambo (Feb. 9-11), UNCW Tournament (Feb. 23-25), DeMarini Tiger Clash (Mar. 1-3) - for a 6-7 record before starting conference action.
- After splitting a three-game series at Butler (Mar. 11-12), 1-2, and falling in all three games against Villanova (Mar. 15-17), the Friars earned a non-conference doubleheader sweep over Stonehill (Mar. 20).
- Providence closed March with a winning split against St. John's (Mar. 22, 24), a losing split at UConn (Mar. 30-Apr. 1) and a single-game win against URI in between (Mar. 27).
- After going 1-2 at Seton Hall (Apr. 5-7) and falling at #23 Boston U (Apr. 9), the Friars most recently won three games to sweep a conference series against DePaul (Apr. 12-14) and a single game over Merrimack (Apr. 17).
- Hanna Aldrich leads the Friars with a .343 batting average. Jacque Harrington is close behind with a .342 batting average.
- Harrington holds the team-high in five major stats - 38 hits, 24 RBI, 12 doubles, two triples, and 25 runs.
- Sofia Peterson has hit for a team-high seven home runs.
- In the circle, Alyssa Twomey leads with a 2.80 ERA in 102.2 innings with 107 strikeouts, six complete games, one shutout, and 11 wins.
SERIES AGAINST THE FRIARS
- UAlbany and Providence last faced off in 2020 at the Spring Games.
- The Great Danes won the game, 5-2, when the current graduate student class were freshmen.
- Current players, Morgan Petty and Maddi Petrella, each tallied at least one RBI. Petrella led the team with three off a double and a single.
ABOUT BINGHAMTON
- The Bearcats are 25-10 on the season with a 7-2 conference record.
- Binghamton opened 2024 action with four wins and one loss at the Frank Griffin Classic (Feb. 9-11) before adding a 3-2 record at the Winthrop Eagle Classic (Feb. 16-18).
- The Bearcats finished tournament play with three two-day tournaments - Spring in the Springs (Mar. 2-3), Weiler Orthodontics Tournament (Mar. 8, 10), and Penn State Softball Tournament (Mar. 16-17) - to own a 14-8 record before beginning conference play.
- In their opening league series, Binghamton went 1-2 at Bryant (Mar. 22, 24) before sweeping UMBC with three wins (Mar. 29-30).
- Most recently, the Bearcats swept Maine in a three-game conference series (Apr. 14-15).
- In addition to league play, Binghamton swept two non-conference doubleheaders at home - Le Moyne (Mar. 26) and St. Bonaventure (Apr. 9).
- Brianna Santos leads the Bearcats with a .359 batting average, 13 doubles, and 27 runs.
- Lindsey Walter is close behind with a .327 batting average.
- Shelby Carvalho owns a team-high seven home runs.
- Allison L'Amoreaux follows with five homers, eight doubles, and 23 runs while leading with 25 RBI.
- In the circle, L'Amoreaux and Brianna Roberts have shared time with 13 starts each. L'Amoreaux holds the slight advantage with 83.0 innings pitched and nine complete games to Roberts' 81.1 and seven, respectively, but Roberts leads with 93 strikeouts and four saves.
SERIES AGAINST THE BEARCATS
- The Great Danes lead the Division I series, 54-14.
- Throughout the 2023 season, UAlbany and Binghamton went against each other in seven different contests.
- In the first, a three-game series in Vestal, the Bearcats won the series with two wins to the Great Danes' one.
- During UAlbany's senior day weekend, the Great Danes' swept Binghamton in a second three-game series.
- In their final 2023 meeting, UAlbany defeated the Bearcats in Binghamton's first game of the 2023 AE Championship Tournament. The Great Danes earned a 6-0 shutout.
AROUND THE AMERICA EAST
- Binghamton leads the conference with nine wins in 11 league games.
- Bryant follows winning three quarters of their America East contests (9-3).
- UAlbany is the third, and final, team with a winning record within conference action (7-4).
- UMBC sits just below .500 with a 5-7 AE record.
- UMass Lowell owns three wins in 10 league contests.
- Maine recently earned their first conference win. The team now holds a 1-11 record.
