The victory moves UAlbany into sole possession of first place in the America East with a 3-0 conference record.

Head Coach Scott Marr: "A solid road win in a tough place to win. We payed every second of that game and that's what it takes to win on the road. It wasn't pretty at times, but we stayed with the process. So many contributors, but have to give it to Jackson Palumb with two huge goals on our last two possessions to win the game! Unbelievable finish, so proud of our team!"

How it Happened:
  • Parker Emmett scored his first goal of the year to open the scoring two minutes into the game. The Retrievers answered with two straight goals to take a 2-1 advantage.
  • Jake Piseno scored his sixth goal of the season with the long pole with 7:51 remaining in the first to even up the score at 2-2.
  • Freshman Ryan Doherty, fresh off of his Rookie of the Week performance, scored his first of the afternoon with 2:21 on the clock to shoot the Great Danes to the lead. UMBC ties it at 3-3 less than a minute later on a score from Jordan Galloway.
  • Silas Richmond scored the final goal of the first to put UAlbany ahead 4-3, but the Retrievers tied it up early in the second on a goal from Brian Tregoning.
  • The Great Danes then rattled off four straight goals to take an 8-4 advantage. Scoring on the run was Joey Carino, Jacob Smith, Carino again, and Doherty. Smith's goal, with the long pole, was the first of his career.
  • UMBC's Tregoning stopped the bleeding with 7:28 on the clock before Connor Chick made it two-straight for the Retrievers, making it 8-6.
  • With six seconds remaining, UMBC made it 8-7 on Tregoning's 20th of the year. After the ensuing faceoff, UAlbany's Piseno ripped a shot from a mile out that found the back of the net with just one second on the clock for his second of the day, putting the Great Danes up 9-7 at the half.
  • UMBC scored the first goal of the second half two minutes in thanks to Dane Hall.
  • Doherty scored the first goal of the second half for the Great Danes with 5:20 on the clock in the third.
  • UMBC's Mike Doughty made it a one score game with 1:30 remaining in the third, but Luke Grove pushed the lead back to two goals less than 20 seconds later to make it 11-9 in favor of the Danes.
  • The two teams once again exchanged goals within a minute of each other, this time with nine minutes remaining. Tregoning scored for UMBC, Amos Whitcomb scored for UAlbany. Tregoning then scored two more for UMBC to tie the score at 12-12 with 4:53 remaining.
  • Mateo Brown gave UMBC its first lead since the first quarter with 2:56 remaining, making it 13-12.
  • Jackson Palumb proved to be the hero late for the Great Danes. He scored the equalizer with 1:47 on the clock to tie the game at 13-13. With five seconds remaining, Palumb drove the right side of the crease, scoring the game-winner as he was pushed into the UMBC goaltender.
