GREAT DANE REWIND
  • UAlbany is 9-6 headed into the conference season.
  • The Great Danes started the season at NC State's Wolfpack Classic. Tallying one win in two games over Iona, UAlbany fell in both games against the ACC host.
  • Continuing the season at the annual Spring Games competition, the Great Danes added a 4-1 record over the March 1-3 weekend.
  • In a doubleheader, UAlbany split the results against FDU.
  • Moving on with the UMBC Spring Invite (March. 15-16), the Great Danes notched a 3-1 record with games against Niagara and Wisconsin. After a shutout against each team on Saturday, UAlbany added two one-run games on Sunday, including a no-hitter against Wisconsin.
  • Graduate student Caitlyn Mitros leads the team with a .409 batting average. 
  • Graduate student Morgan Petty owns a team-high 17 RBI.
  • Graduate student Maddi Petrella follows both with a .381 batting average and 13 RBI.
  • Tied with four home runs each, Petrella and Petty lead the team in multi-base hits. Petrella leads with 10 (six doubles, four homers) while Petty follows with seven (three doubles, four homers).
  • Senior Jordan Nastos hit the first triple of the season in Baltimore.
 
IN THE CIRCLE
  • Graduate student Wendi Hammond continues to serve as the Great Danes' starting pitcher.
  • Seeing the most time in the circle, Hammond leads with 59.1 innings pitched, six complete games, and 32 strikeouts in seven wins.
  • With a team-low ERA of 0.39 and four game appearances, redshirt-junior Kate Powers has gone 2-0 with 10 strikeouts this season. 
  • Junior Dominique Prevette has pitched for seven strikeouts in 18.1 innings pitched.
  • During the most recent weekend of action, Powers and Hammond combined for four complete games, including two shutouts and a no-hitter. Allowing just one earned run throughout the competition, Hammond ended the weekend with a 0.00 ERA while Powers tallied a 0.64 ERA.
 
ABOUT UMASS
  • The Minutewomen are 7-19 on the season with a 3-3 conference record.
  • Opening the season with four tournaments - Georgia Southern Tournament (Feb. 9-11), Houston Classic (Feb. 16-18), South Carolina Tournament (Feb. 23-25), and UNCG Invitational (Mar. 8-10) - UMass tallied four wins in 19 contests.
  • Heading to Saint Louis for their first A10 series, the Minutewomen went 1-2 on the road (Mar. 16-17).
  • In the team's first week at home, UMass fell to UMass Lowell (Mar. 20) before going 2-1 against Fordham (Mar. 22, 24). 
  • Bella Panjota leads with a .313 batting average from 26 hits, including a team-high seven doubles.
  • Leading with four home runs, Sarah Keagy also owns a team-high 10 RBI.
  • Having put four pitchers in the circle, Julianne Bolton and Natalee Horton lead with six complete games each. Tied with 56 strikeouts each, Bolton holds a slight lead with 72.1 innings pitched to Horton's 64.1.
 
SERIES AGAINST THE MINUTEWOMEN
  • UMass leads the all-time series, 1-0.
  • The Great Danes fell, 2-0, in the 2006 NCAA Regional Round on May 19. 
 
AROUND THE AMERICA EAST
  • Four schools have started conference action.
  • UMBC leads with three wins over Maine.
  • Bryant follows the Retrievers with a 2-1 record over Binghamton.
  • UAlbany and UMass Lowell will begin conference play this weekend after having to postpone their season-opening series.
