GREAT DANE REWIND
- After three weeks of action, the Great Danes are 6-5 on the season.
- UAlbany started the season at NC State's Wolfpack Classic. Tallying one win in two games over Iona, the Great Danes fell in both games against the ACC host.
- Continuing the season at the annual Spring Games competition, UAlbany added a 4-1 record over the March 1-3 weekend.
- Most recently, the Great Danes split a doubleheader against FDU (3/8).
- Graduate students Maddi Petrella and Caitlyn Mitros hold the lead with a .438 batting average.
- Along with classmate Morgan Petty (16), Petrella (11) makes it two Great Danes with double-digit RBI in 11 contests.
- Petrella also owns a team-high nine multi-base hits (six doubles, three homers). Petty follows with seven (three doubles, four homers).
- Freshman Mary Kate Murray, senior Jordan Nastos, and sophomore Deanna Grahek have each hit one home run.
- From the circle, graduate student Wendi Hammond has pitched four complete games with six starts. Totaling 26 strikeouts in 45.1 innings pitched, she owns a 6-4 record.
ABOUT NIAGARA
- With one tournament and three weeks of play under their belt, the Purple Eagles are 4-6 on the season.
- Playing four games at McNeese State, Niagara opened the season with a 1-3 record in Louisiana (Feb. 23-24).
- After two losses in a doubleheader at Lamar (2/25), the Purple Eagles swept a doubleheader at Morgan State (3/12) and split a doubleheader at Saint Peter's (3/13).
- Hailey Cenname leads with a .478 batting average off 11 hits.
- Following, Selah Moyer (.400) and Maggie Kellner (.393) each own double-digit hit totals, including the team's only two home runs (one each).
- Moyer owns a team-high six RBI.
- Maddie Hickingbottom leads in the circle with three complete games and five starts for 28.1 innings pitched and 24 strikeouts.
- Cara Leone follows with four starts for 19.0 innings pitched and six strikeouts.
ABOUT WISCONSIN
- Four regular-season tournaments later, the Badgers are 9-12 on the season.
- Having started at the Kajikawa Classic in Tempe, Ariz.(Fe. 9-11), Wisconsin started the season 4-1.
- After five losses at the Clearwater Invitational (Feb. 15-17), the Badgers earned a 4-2 record at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic (Feb. 22-24) in Cathedral City, Calif.
- Most recently, Wisconsin added a 1-4 record at the Utah Tech Invitational (Mar. 1-3).
- Hilary Blomberg leads the team with a .395 batting average, however, Ava Kuszak and Alivia Bark lead with 20 hits each.
- Emmy Wells owns a team-high 16 RBI and six home runs.
- Kuszak (13), Bark (13), and Brooke Kuffel round out those with double-digit RBI totals.
- Each of the Badgers' top three pitchers had seen approximately the same amount of time in the circle - Gabi Salo (45.0), Tessa Magnanimo (43.1), and Shelby Jacobson (42.0).
- Salo holds a team-high four shutouts, six complete games, and 50 strikeouts in seven starts, however, Magnanimo leads with nine starts.
AROUND THE AMERICA EAST
- Heading into the sixth weekend of the pre-conference season, Binghamton leads with an 11-7 record.
- UAlbany follows as the only other team with a winning record, 6-5.
- Bryant sits even with a 6-6 record.
- UMBC has earned five wins in 12 contests.
- UMass Lowell (3-11) and Maine (1-18) round out the conference.
