BOSTON - UAlbany volleyball's Maria Olga Siapani was named the America East Rookie of the Week, as announced Tuesday.
 
The freshman setter earns her 11th conference weekly award after tallying 39 assists and adding seven digs in a key match for the Great Danes. As a team, UAlbany defeated Bryant, 3-1, to secure a spot in the AE Championship Tournament. 
 
Siapani's award is her sixth as the AE Rookie of the Week. As a team, the Great Danes have totaled 12 weekly awards in 2024.
 
UAlbany is back in action for the AE Tournament against the host and first seed, Binghamton, at 4 pm on Friday, November 22.
