Head Coach Leigh Howard: "Today's result was a very difficult one to swallow. Unfortunately, there were some decisions made early on in the game that made a significant impact on the way we had to play, and even despite that, we had the better part of the play. I am proud with how our players faced the adversity of playing a player down, and It was unfortunate that the game ended the way it did. We deserved better."

How it Happened
- In the 27th minute, Jasmine Colbert was assessed a straight red card on a hard challenge for a loose ball. UAlbany was only permitted to field 10 players for the remainder of the game.
- Despite the personnel deficit, UAlbany outshot NJIT 11-5 in the first half, and the Great Danes defense held NJIT without a shot on goal for the first 45 minutes, leaving goalkeeper Cassandra Coster untested.
- Marisa Tava found herself free in the NJIT box in the 77th minute when a low serve into the box from Tiffany Bernot intended for Jada Colbert was redirected left. Tava's shot attempt was blocked at the last second by a recovering NJIT defender.
- NJIT created a dangerous opportunity in the 94th minute with a shot from deep in the UAlbany box on the right side that was blocked by a Great Dane defender and out of bounds for an NJIT corner kick.
- NJIT created a breakaway chance in the 96th minute when Gabby Zalot found Christine Conaghy. Conaghy, one-on-one with Coster, beat Coster left to score and win the game 1-0.
- NJIT bounced back to make up for their shots deficit in the first half by outshooting UAlbany 13-4 after halftime, including 4-0 in overtime.
- Results of Sunday's games secured the America East regular season title for Vermont, who earn the top overall seed for the America East Tournament and home field advantage throughout.
