Gowing opened the scoring in the first minute when she received the ball off a free kick from Caroline Kopp before going top-shelf to put her squad up 1-0. The Great Danes contained the ball in their offensive end for the majority of the half, taking a 7-4 shot advantage into the break.
Coming out of halftime, Cavanugh sent a shot from 12 yards out to extend UAlbany's margin to 2-0. Vermont was able to get on the board in the 59th minute off a corner kick from Alex West who found the back of the net off her initial kick.
Williams followed with a pair of goals of her own less than five minutes apart, as her first came off a loose rebound and her second behind a pass from Dieroff.
The Great Danes continue America East play at Maine on Sunday, October 7 in a 1:00 p.m. tilt.
