UAlbany Women's Soccer Drops America East Match to New Hampshire, 5-3

Durham, N.H. - Meghan Ledwith scored two goals and recorded an assist, while Brooke Duchaney netted the game-winner, leading New Hampshire to a 5-3 win over UAlbany in America East Conference women's soccer action on Thursday afternoon.

New Hampshire took a 3-0 lead on Ledwith's two goals, sandwiched around a tally by Monique Lamotte. Ledwith recorded the first tally of the game in the 22nd minute, taking an assist from Taylor Finley and sending the ball into the left side of the net. Ledwith then had the helper on Lamotte's goal, getting off a quick pass which Lamotte launched from 35-yards out into the top of the net. The Wildcats took the two-goal advantage into halftime, and Ledwith came out of the break to score an unassisted shot in the 48th minute.

Rebecca Lee ended the scoring drought for the Great Danes, scoring the first of two goals in the 56th minute, sending a direct shot into the back of the net on a free kick. New Hampshire responded with its fourth goal just over a minute later, as Duchaney took an assist from Alli Rozelle, collecting the rebound from Rozelle's header and putting the ball past UAlbany goalkeeper Dani Britt on the right.

Chrissy Klepper cut UAlbany's deficit to 4-2 in the 67th minute, with an assist from Chelsea DeVerna. Chelsea Kuss scored New Hampshire's final tally of the game in the 84th minute, making a diving shot into the right side of the net off a pass from Drea Nogueira. Lee attempted to continue the Great Danes' rally, collecting a rebound off a defender on a corner kick and putting the ball in the goal past New Hampshire goalkeeper Erica Correa.

New Hampshire (3-7-1, AE 1-0-0) outshot the Great Danes, 21-13, while UAlbany held a slight 5-4 advantage in corner kicks. Britt played all 90 minutes in the goal for UAlbany, making six saves, while Correa stopped five shots for the Wildcats.

UAlbany (2-8-0, AE 0-2-0) will return to action on Sunday, hosting Bryant in the final non-conference game of the season.
