Key Stat Lines

Head Coach Scott Marr: "As far as I have seen this year, Cornell is no question the best team in the country. Complete team with the best player in the game. I thought after the first period we settled in and played very well; we were aggressive. The biggest takeaway from this game is that the score over the final three periods was 11-10. We just need to start the game a little better. With that said, we got better as the game went on. I'm very proud of our effort!"

How it Happened:
  • Cornell shot out to a 4-0 lead early in the first on goals by Andrew Dalton, CJ Kirst, Hugh Kellenher, and Ryan Goldstein.
  • The Great Danes got on the board five minutes into the game thanks to Silas Richmond on a strong feed from Koleton Marquis.
  • Cornell responded with two more back-to-back goals, including the first man-down score the Great Danes have allowed all season long.
  • Cornell's Michael Bozzi made it 7-1 with just under six minutes remaining in the first.
  • The first goal of the second was scored by Cornell's Brian Luzzi three minutes in.
  • UAlbany then scored back-to-back goals thanks to James Reid and Parker Emmett to make it 8-3.
  • The Big Red responded with two goals of their own to push the lead back to seven, 10-3.
  • Richmond scored his second of the afternoon with 4:31 remaining, making a highlight reel play by going behind his back for the goal.
  • Cornell scored two more before the half, taking a 12-4 lead to the locker room.
  • The Big Red extended the lead to 13-4 with the first goal of the second half.
  • Richmond answered by completing his hat trick about a minute later, 13-5.
  • Ryan Doherty made it two in a row for UAlbany with his first of the afternoon moments later, taking a feed from Richmond.
  • Brendon Barnard then made it three-straight for UAlbany, scoring his first collegiate goal to make it 13-7.
  • With 4:35 remaining in the third, Richmond found Amos Whitcomb down low to make it four consecutive goals for the Great Danes.
  • Cornell stopped the bleeding with 2:39 to go with Ryan Goldstein scoring his 17th of the year.
  • Kirst scored his sixth of the afternoon with 2:04 remaining in the third making it 15-8.
  • The first goal of the fourth was scored by Cornell's Willem Firth less than a minute in.
  • With 8:24 left in the game, Jackson Palumb scored a goal on a Jeter-like jump. Cornell responded on the ensuing faceoff, however, keeping the lead at eight goals, 17-9.
  • The lead was pushed to 18-9 with 3:51 on the clock by Cornell's Ryan Waldman.
  • UAlbany scored two more goals in the final three minutes, one from Richmond and one from Doherty, to close out the game.
