ALBANY, N.Y. - After earning the America East Regular Season Champion title, the UAlbany women's basketball team has been invited to the Women's Basketball Invitation Tournament (WBIT). The Great Danes are set to face off against Saint Joseph's in Philadelphia, Pa. on Thursday, March 20.
UAlbany is currently 26-6 (14-2 AE), the most wins for the program in a single season since winning 28 during the 2015-16 season. Set to compete in their fourth consecutive postseason tournament,

Colleen Mullen, who was voted as the AE Coach of the Year for the first time in her career.
In its second year, UAlbany will be the first America East team to compete in the WBIT, a 32-team postseason event sponsored by the NCAA. The first three rounds will be played on March 20 (first round), March 23 (second round), and March 27 (quarterfinals), with the highest-seeded teams hosting at campus sites. The WBIT semifinal and final games will be conducted at Butler University's Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on March 31 and April 2.
The first four teams out of the NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Championship received an automatic bid and are the first four seed in the WBIT. Also, regular-season champions of any NCAA Division I conference not otherwise selected to the NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Championship secured an automatic spot to the tournament. The remaining at-large field was determined by the eight-member WBIT Selection Committee.
All games are set to broadcast on various ESPN platforms.
