Baseball Shutout at Binghamton

Short Story: Despite strong pitching out of the bullpen the UAlbany baseball team fell at Binghamton, 4-0, as the bats went silent.

 How it Happened:
  • The Great Danes gave Cregg Scherrer the start in game two. Nelson Berkwich started on the mound for the Bearcats.
  • Binghamton began the bottom of the first with their first two batters reaching base. Evin Sullivan opened the scoring with an RBI single through the right side. Nick Roselli crossed the plate on a wild pitch, giving the Bearcats an early 2-0 advantage.
  • In the bottom of the fifth, Roselli slugged a lead-off home run to make it 3-0 in Binghamton's favor. Andrew Tan added another insurance run with a sac fly to right field.
  • Dan McAliney came in to pitch for Binghamton with runners on first and second in the sixth inning.
  • UAlbany brought Kyle McCaffrey in to pitch in the bottom of the sixth.
  • Cam Fuer was brought in to pitch by the Great Danes in the seventh inning with one out.
  • The Bearcats held on to claim game two of the weekend series, 4-0.
