SHORT STORY: The Great Danes earned a late-game victory over Binghamton after taking the lead in the sixth inning, Saturday.

KEY STATS
- Sophomore Sierra Fretz led the team with two RBI while senior Morgan Petty led with two hits.
- Senior Maddi Petrella hit her fifth home run of the season.
- Fretz's two RBI came from a single hit - a double deep into left field.
- Senior Wendi Hammond started the game in the circle with redshirt-sophomore Kate Powers coming in for the game win.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Bearcats started the game with two bunted hits to put two runners on base.
- Holding the runners on base, the Great Danes answered with a single from Morgan Petty in the bottom of the first.
- The UAlbany defense notched three-straight outs in the top of the second to head back to the dugout.
- After a scoreless third inning, Binghamton put the first run on the board with a two-run double in the top of the fourth.
- A home run far out of center field closed the scoring gap but the Bearcats held on to a 2-1 lead after four complete innings.
- With a couple of defensive changes, the Great Dane defense added a second inning with three-straight outs.
- For the second-straight inning, UAlbany retired three-straight batters to head back to the dugout in the sixth inning.
- Junior Jordan Nastos earned a base on balls and Petty added her second single to put two runners on base. With a throwing error from the Bearcats, both runners advanced a base to put two in scoring position.
- Sierra Fretz knocked the ball deep into left field to send both base runners home and earn a double before advancing to third on an error.
- Graduate student Chloe Lewis followed with a single through the left side to bring in junior Caroline Srokowski, pinch-running for Fretz.
- In the top of the seventh, Binghamton earned an inning-opening home run to make it a one-run game, 4-3.
- Leaving two Bearcat runners on base, including one in scoring position, the Great Dane defense came together to tally three outs and take the 4-3 victory for the weekend series sweep.
