Key Stats
Head Coach Katie Thomson: "We learned a lot from this first opportunity to play this 2023 season against a talented Blue Jays team. They went on a few runs in the first half where we weren't able to capitalize on our opportunities and change momentum. We had many bright moments that we'll build off as we grow together and prepare for the next one."

How it Happened
- Johns Hopkins struck first just over a minute after the opening draw to go up 1-0. Sarah Falk, last season's leading goal-scorer, put UAlbany on the board just 46 seconds later with an unassisted goal to tie the game at one.
- The Blue Jays scored the next two to go up 3-1 with 9:27 remaining in the first quarter. Grace McCauley scored, unassisted to keep UAlbany within one but Johns Hopkins responded by scoring each of the next six to go up 9-2 with 5:43 left in the second.
- Allie Maloney scored with 3:50 remaining before halftime to end the Blue Jays' run, but the Great Danes surrendered two more goals before the break to trail 11-3 after the first 30 minutes.
- Johns Hopkins scored the first three goals of the third quarter to lead 14-3 before Bryar Hogg scored her first goal of the season, unassisted, to end another long run for the Blue Jays. Johns Hopkins scored again to lead 15-4 before UAlbany scored three straight to start the fourth quarter.
- Two more goals from the Blue Jays gave Johns Hopkins a 17-7 lead with 4:44 remaining in the game. UAlbany scored each of the final three goals of the day to close the final score to 17-10.
- Four Great Danes scored two goals each, including Shonly Wallace's first goal at UAlbany, having played the bulk of her career at the University of Oregon, and the first career goal for freshman Kloey Roos.
