How it Happened
- The Great Danes struck early, as Mark Wangestein hit an RBI double in the first inning that gave UAlbany a 1-0 lead. In the bottom half, Northeastern scored three runs on five hits and took a 3-1 lead. After a scoreless second and third inning, Northeastern broke the game open.
- The Huskies scored seven runs in the bottom of the fourth on just four hits. They walked, advanced home on a balk, singled twice and doubled that drove in the seven runs scored. Jeff Costello recorded two RBIs in the inning, as Northeastern took a 10-1 lead.
- Camden Wypior entered in the bottom half of the fourth, his first collegiate appearance, and allowed one of the runs that was charged to Marshall Winn.
- After the seven-run fourth inning, Connor Takacs pitched 3.2 scoreless innings and allowed only one hit with three strikeouts. During the stretch, UAlbany had the bases loaded with two outs in the top of the seventh inning but could not capitalize.
- Nearly all of Northeastern's damage was done in the fourth inning, as each team was shut out for seven-of-nine innings, and the Huskies defeated the Great Danes, 10-1.
