Head Coach Leigh Howard: "Today was very special not only in that we were able to secure three points, but we were able to do so while playing for a casue that our program is very passionate about. I am proud of how our defense, made up of underclassmen, came away with a shutout and we got another great goal from Jasmine up top. Today we played with a lot of pride and that's something we hope to continue to do for one another."

How it Happened
- Sunday was UAlbany's annual Pride game, an extension of the America East's Spread Respect initiative, to raise awareness for diversity and inclusion in collegiate athletics.
- Maine showed offensive pressure early, taking two shots in the first two minutes. UAlbany had two chances in the 11th minute, drawing two corner kicks that came up empty. UAlbany's first shot came from Jasmine Colbert in the 20th minute, but her effort just missed high off the crossbar.
- In the 34th minute, UAlbany drew another corner kick. Marisa Tava's serve from the corner landed far post and was kick out to Sophia Eifler. Eifler pushed the ball to the middle of the field to Jasmine Colbert, who ripped a shot from the top of the box and over a jumping Maine goalkeeper to take the lead.
- UAlbany held a narrow advantage in the first half in shots taken, 5-4, but the Great Danes' offense drew four corner kicks while Maine produced none.
- UAlbany's best scoring chance in the second half came in the 58th minute. Jasmine Colbert found Olivia Piraino whose low shot was batted away by Maine's goalkeeper and out of danger.
- UAlbany held on to win by a final score of 1-0, snapping their three-game tie streak, and securing their first America East victory of the season. In goal, Cassandra Coster recorded her first shutout victory of her career.Â
Next: UAlbany visits UMass Lowell on October 10.
