At UAlbany

The Great Danes’ most recent America East Player of the Year came from Morgan Petty’s 2022 season. At the time of her being named the POTY, she was first in the conference in RBI (46) and second in batting average (.371). Fresh off All-Rookie and Second Team All-Conference nods in 2021, the junior ended the 2022 season first in the conference with 48 hits while finishing in the top-five of the league in batting average (.345), runs (31), doubles (13), home runs (8), RBI (42), and slugging percentage (.626).

As a team, UAlbany won the America East batting title for the second-straight year in 2022. Leading the conference in several categories including runs (221), hits (340), RBI (200), and slugging percentage (.433), the Great Danes’ league-high batting average (.283) sealed the deal in 2022. In 2021, the Great Danes led the conference in most batting categories including batting average (.290), hits (335), home runs (45), RBI (212), and slugging percentage (.464).

Just one season after winning the Triple Crown, Liz Snow was named the 2017 America East Player of the Year. In 2017, Snow was the fourth POTY in program history. Ranking second in the nation in slugging percentage, she led the league in on-base percentage (.535), slugging percentage (.971), extra-base hits (31), and total bases (100). In 2016, she was the league’s best offensive player and won the Triple Crown with 14 home runs, 56 RBI, and a .452 batting average.

In 2012, sophomore transfer Charlise Castro led the conference in the Triple Crown categories, home runs (13), RBI (53), and batting average (.461). Named the America East Player of the Year, she became UAlbany's single-season leader in RBIs, second in batting average, homers and doubles (13). Continuing her postseason accolades, Castro notched a spot on the NFCA All-Northeast Region First Team. As a unit, the 2012 Great Danes led the America East in slugging pct. (.461), RBI (245), triples (18), and home runs (42).

Under Reardon’s guidance, the club hit over .300 for three straight years between 2004 and 2006. The 2004 squad ranked 11th nationally in batting average (.306), while the 2006 team led the country in triples per game (0.50).

Reardon, who also serves as the hitting coach for the team's fall and winter clinics, oversaw three America East batting champions in five seasons - Andee Lindgren (2004), Amber Maisonet (2007), and Meagan Butsch (2008). After breaking program records for career home runs (31) and single-season home runs (16), Butsch was named the league’s co-player of the year in 2009.

Prior to UAlbany

During Reardon’s four seasons at Marist College, he served as the team’s hitting mentor.
