Head Coach Scott Marr: "Tough start. I think we played a little tentative in the first half, but we talked at halftime about committing to our actions: running hard, throwing the ball hard. Not playing tentative, committing to the game… We really showed ourselves what we can do when we commit to our actions… No moral victories, but that's a top 10 team. I thought we played really tough."
How it Happened:
- Georgetown got the scoring started when Kevin Miller scored less than two minutes into the match.
- The Hoyas scored again when Aidan Carroll found the back of the net with 11:15 left in the first.
- James Caroll extended the Georgetown lead to three with a goal on a helper from A. Carroll with 9:43 left.
- UAlbany scored its first goal of the game less than a minute later when Alex Pfeiffer found the back of the net, going top shelf.
- Georgetown countered with an Owen Horning goal to make it 4-1 with 4:42 to go in the first.
- A. Carroll netted his second of the game with 3:18 left to put the Hoyas up 5-1.
- A minute later, A. Carroll found the back of the net for the third time to make it 6-1.
- Ryan Doherty scored the Great Danes' second goal with less than a minute left in the quarter to make it 6-2
- Georgetown started the second with a goal from Fulton Bayman within the first minute.
- After more than 10 minutes with no goals, the Hoyas' Joe Cesare scored to make it 8-2.
- UAlbany answered back with a goal from Jacob Moran with 2:28 left in the half.
- Wilson Buren of Georgetown responded with a goal less than a minute later to make it 9-3.
- With less than 30 seconds to go, Brendan O'Keefe scored his first of the day to make it 9-4 in favor of the Hoyas heading into the locker room at halftime.
- The third quarter came and went without a score by either side, keeping the score 9-4 to start the fourth.
- The Great Danes ended the scoring drought when O'Keefe found the back of the net with 12:30 left in the match.
- UAlbany cut the lead to three on a Jacob Smith goal from an assist from Silas Richmond with just under 10 minutes to go.
- Georgetown answered back a minute later when A. Carroll netted his fourth of the game to make it 10-6.
- Richmond was able to score with 6:54 left to make it a three-point game once again.
- With 5:16 left, the Hoyas scored to make it 11-7.
- Georgetown's Jack Erb scored with less than two minutes left to make it 12-7, which would be the final score of the game.
