HOW IT HAPPENED
- Bryant was the first on the board with an RBI single in the top of the first.
- The Great Danes answered by putting the first three batters on base - a single (Taylor Quinn), a bunt (Caitlyn Frederick), and a walk (Vanessa Meyers).
- Mary Kate Murray hit a sac fly to bring in Quinn before Frederick scored a second run for UAlbany.
- With two in scoring position, Sara Anderson on third and Christie Collins on second, in the top of the second, Quinn hit a single to shallow center field for an RBI.
- Frederick followed it up with a triple deep into centerfield to give the Great Danes a 5-1 lead after two innings.
- Quinn tabbed the first hit of the fourth - a home run that slammed right into the scoreboard.
- Two walks and a couple of stolen bases later, Frederick and Meyers were on third- and second-base, respectively, when Murray singled to centerfield for two RBI and an 8-1 advantage for UAlbany.
- The pitching reigned in the fifth as Hayley Wieczerzak pitched three strikeouts to bring the Great Danes back into the dugout.
- After a scoreless fifth, Frederick singled to right field for her third hit of the game.
- With two outs on the board, Victoria Vilarchao singled to left center to bring Frederick in from second base and win the game, 9-1, in six innings.
NEXT: The Great Danes will head on the road to face CCSU in a doubleheader on April 1 before returning home to host UMass Lowell (Apr. 5-6).
