HOW IT HAPPENED
- UMBC opened the scoring in the first inning with a single run.
- Kate Powers left one runner on base with her first strikeout of the game.
- After a scoreless second inning, the Retrievers added an unearned run in the third and a home run in the fourth for a 3-0 lead.
- Morgan Petty led off the bottom of the fourth with a home run to put the Great Danes on the board.
- The UAlbany defense left two Retrievers on base to get to the bottom of the seventh.
- Victoria Vilarchao hit a one-out home run to close UMBC's lead to one but it was not enough as the Great Danes fell, 3-2.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After a scoreless first inning, the Retrievers got on the board with a home run in the second inning.
- Deanna Grahek scored off a sacrifice fly from Maddi Petrella to tie the score at one in the third inning.
- Victoria Vilarchao and Mary Kate Murray hit a double in the fourth and fifth innings, respectively.
- Holding the tie through the fourth, fifth, and sixth innings, the Great Danes and the Retrievers remained tied at one.
- In the bottom of the seventh, after two consecutive singles from Caitlyn Mitros and Morgan Petty, Petrella grounded into a double play. While the Retrievers were turning the double play, Mitros was able to make it from second to home to score the game-winning run.
NEXT: The Great Danes will head on the road for a doubleheader at UMass Lowell (Apr. 9) before facing Bryant in a three-game series (Apr. 13-14).
