Baseball Falls to CCSU, Ending Eight Game Win Streak

Score: CCSU 7, UAlbany 6

Location: CCSU Baseball Field in New Britain, Conn.

Records: UAlbany (8-4) | CCSU (3-1)

Short Story: The University at Albany baseball team saw its eight-game win streak snapped on Tuesday afternoon against CCSU. The Great Danes fell into a hole early in the game, with the Blue Devils scoring five runs in the second. UAlbany had chances to tie the game in the eighth and ninth with the bases loaded, but were unable to get the tying run across home plate.

Coach Jon Mueller: "We gave up a big inning early and battled back into the game. Give CCSU credit, they shut down a big opportunity in the eighth when we were trailing by a run. Midweek conference-like opponents only make us better down the road.  Winn and Scherrer were outstanding and Tobia and Jessen continue to take steps."
