How it Happened
  • Maine held the top overall record in the America East heading into Sunday's game, while UAlbany held the lead in the league table with seven points.
  • The Great Danes played aggressively early, committing six offsides infractions in the first 18 minutes.  The Black Bears scored first in the 20th minute when Tegan Morrison set up Kayla Kraemer for her second goal of the season.
  • The first half ended with the Black Bears holding the same 1-0 lead.  Maine led UAlbany in shots taken, 11-2, and their defense held UAlbany without a shot on target.
  • Shots evened out in the second half, with both teams taking four after halftime.  UAlbany didn't manage a shot on goal until the 85th minute, when Savanah Edwards' attempt broke through the Maine defense to goalkeeper Kira Kutzinski, who made the save.  Maine held on to win by the same score, 1-0.
  • The Black Bears outshot UAlbany 15-6 overall, and drew seven corner kicks to UAlbany's one.  Eleven of Maine's shots were on target, leading to a career-high 10 saves for UAlbany goalkeeper Megan Hart.
