How it Happened Game 1
- Seton Hall opened the scoring in the first inning after Tyler Shedler-McAvoy tripled. Matt Toke drove Schedler-McAvoy in with a sacrifice fly and gave the Pirates a 1-0 lead.
- UAlbany followed with the game-tying run in the second inning, when Josh Loeffler hit an RBI double that drove in John Daly.
- Matt Soloman gave UAlbany a 3-1 lead in the fourth inning when he hit a double off the left field wall. Daly picked up his second run and John Marti scored his first.
- UAlbany added another run when Mark Wangenstein hit an RBI single, after Brad Malm tripled in the fifth inning. UAlbany held the 4-1 lead until Seton Hall answered back in the seventh.
- The Pirates added two runs (one earned) in the seventh against relief pitcher Chase Carroll and pulled within 4-3 of UAlbany. With two men on and one out, Carroll produced an inning-ending double play to limit the damage.
- UAlbany took a one-run lead into the bottom of the ninth before Seton Hall loaded the bases with two outs. Freshman Connor Eisenmann got Seton Hall to fly out and sealed the Great Danes' 4-3 win.
- Eisenmann recorded a five-out save in his first collegiate appearance and Ray Weber secured his first victory of the season.
How it Happened Game 2
- Cregg Scherrer and Nick Payero pitched two clean innings before Seton Hall scored five runs in the third. The Pirates' Casey Dana blasted a two-run home run that assisted Seton Hall to a 5-0 lead.
- The Pirates added one run in the fourth inning and three in the fifth as they took a commanding 9-0 lead. UAlbany did not record a hit until John Daly's single in the fourth inning – the hit was the Great Danes' only one of the night.
- Seton Hall added three more runs in the seventh and eighth combined to seal its 12-0 victory over UAlbany.
- Scherrer allowed six runs, one earned, on five hits and five walks, while Payero allowed no runs on one hit and four walks.
