Short Story: The University at Albany softball team dropped two games on the road against the University of Delaware. The Great Danes fell in game one after a strong pitching performance from
Maranda Jimenez, and fell in game two after falling behind early.
Coach Chris Cannata: "Today wasn't our day but I'm proud of the way we fought all afternoon. Maranda [Jimenez] threw a great game for us and really gave us an opportunity to win. In game two we got down early, but I'm happy with the way our girls went right to work and ended the game strong."

- Wendi Hammond took over pitching duties in the second inning, going 4.2 innings and only allowing one earned run.
- Phillips and Jimenez both collected multiple hits.
- Petty added another hit and RBI for the Great Danes.
How it Happened Game One:
- Delaware scored the first run of the game in the bottom of the first off an RBI single from Brooke Glanden.
- Delaware's second run of the ballgame came in the fifth, with Glanden once again driving in a run, this time off a triple. The run was unearned.
How it Happened Game Two:
- Delaware jumped ahead early, scoring two runs in the first followed by six in the second and two in the third.
- The fourth inning proved to be a big one for UAlbany, scoring four runs. Petty drove in the first Great Danes run of the afternoon, tripling to right center and scoring Phillips.
- Katie Falotico added with a single to center, scoring Petty.
- Jimenez added to her big day with an RBI double.
- Kelly Barkevich drove in the final run for the Great Danes, driving in a run off a fielder's choice.
Next: UAlbany plays Colgate next weekend with a doubleheader at their field on Saturday before returning home on Sunday for another doubleheader.
